Earl Pierce Weds May Landis

Earl Pierce was my Grandpa Con Pierce's first cousin. Earl was the son of his Uncle Sam Pierce. His given name was Walter Earl Pierce and he was born 25 Jan, 1885, so, he was the oldest of this generation of Pierces. His parents were Samuel A. Pierce the eldest son of Converse Bacon Pierce and Mary Warner Pierce, and Amberetta Hartsock, of Linton, In. Like his daddy, Sam, he was a rascal, there is an account record in the Bloomfield paper of shortly after his marriage in July of 1903 of an altercation with his mother resulting in a triasl and fine. He and his wife then begin their marriage in Terre Haute at the same time my Great Grandfather and family were also living in Terre Haute. His daughter Ruby E. was born in Worthington in 1904. His wife Louana May Landis passed away in 1905. Leaving him with a young toddler daughter to raise and with the help of his mother and later her new husband they provide a home for Ruby. In 1910, his daughter is living in Texas with her grandparents. Her father Earl died sometime between 1905-1910. Rudy would be raised by her grandmother in Bicknell In and would marry William Rude of Worthington in 1922. They would live in Evansville. She lost her husband in 1974 and she would pass in 1979. I show they, the Rude's had two daughters.
